What is a data implementation analyst?

A Data Implementation Analyst is a professional who specializes in integrating, configuring, and ensuring the successful deployment of data solutions for clients or organizations. They work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to understand data requirements, map data sources, and oversee the transfer and validation of data. Their responsibilities often include troubleshooting data issues, optimizing data workflows, and providing technical support during the implementation phase. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills are essential for this role.

What are some common challenges faced by data implementation analysts during new client onboarding?

Data Implementation Analysts often encounter challenges such as integrating complex client data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, and adapting to unique client requirements. They must communicate effectively with both technical teams and client stakeholders to clarify data specifications and resolve discrepancies quickly. Time management is critical, as onboarding projects may have tight deadlines and require simultaneous coordination across multiple teams. Successful analysts leverage strong analytical skills and attention to detail to deliver smooth, accurate implementations.

Job description

Description:

Lead the Way to Intelligent Banking with Us!

You might not think about what happens behind the scenes when you check your bank balance or deposit a check from your phone, but we do. Every day.

Kinective empowers banks and credit unions to move beyond keeping up with technology to shaping the future of banking. Our platform seamlessly connects the right tools, delivers real-time data, and drives smarter operations for more than 4,000 financial institutions nationwide. We are a fast-growing team built on individual ownership, company-wide collaboration, and setting industry-leading standards. Here, new ideas are encouraged, candid feedback is welcomed, and your growth truly matters as much as the company’s. At Kinective, we are leading the way to intelligent banking together and enjoying the journey along the way.

Why This Role Matters

Every role at Kinective exists to move the needle for our clients, partners, and the financial institutions we serve. As one of Kinective's Implementation Analysts, you'll remotely install and maintain Kinective’s Migrate solution, including OmniPort and OmniView applications, supporting databases, and systems. The Implementation Analyst provides remote one-on-one and group training to OmniView users. In addition, this position also performs remote data conversions using the OmniPort application.

Requirements:

What you’ll own

Solution implementation and environment setup

  • Install, configure, and validate all components of the Migrate solution, including OmniPort, OmniView/Viewer, MongoDB, web components, and other required supporting programs in customer environments.
  • Perform manual and automated deployments, verify system readiness, and confirm that required application paths, logging, adapters, plugins, and connectivity settings are correctly configured.
  • Coordinate installation details with customer stakeholders and internal teams to ensure implementation environments are prepared for migration and go-live activities.

Data migration and conversion delivery

  • Execute remote data migrations and conversions, transforming customer data into required output formats and validating results against project specifications.
  • Analyze source data, identify mapping or formatting issues, resolve exceptions, and perform quality checks and reconciliation to ensure migrated data is complete, accurate, and usable within the target environment.
  • Support legacy data conversion efforts commonly associated with core changes, mergers and acquisitions, retention requirements, and other operational or regulatory business events.

Customer enablement and product training

  • Deliver remote one-on-one and group training to customer administrators and end users on how to access, research, administer, and use migrated data
  • Educate customers on system functionality, data organization, user access considerations, and best practices for ongoing use of migrated records.
  • Provide clear implementation guidance and help transition customers to steady-state usage with confidence in the product and process.

Project coordination and stakeholder communication

  • Communicate implementation progress, risks, milestones, and next steps to customers and internal stakeholders through email, Salesforce, and other project-tracking channels.
  • Maintain accurate implementation notes, project status updates, and customer context to support visibility, accountability, and smooth handoffs across teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Professional Services, Support, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to keep projects on track and resolve blockers efficiently.

Troubleshooting, support, and continuous improvement

  • Troubleshoot application, database, configuration, and migrated-data issues across our services and related systems; diagnose root causes and drive issues through resolution.
  • Own assigned customer support cases, document findings clearly, and escalate issues appropriately when deeper technical intervention is required.
  • Contribute to implementation quality by identifying recurring issues, improving documentation, sharing lessons learned, and supporting additional duties or special projects as assigned.

How We’ll Measure Success

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and explain problems with data, applications, and systems.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Positive demeanor and empathy when working with customers and teammates.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to see tasks through to completion despite competing project demands.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and maximize use of resources.

Success here isn’t about checking boxes – it’s about propelling Kinective’s mission to lead the way to intelligent banking. You must bring excellence to your craft, balance resourcefulness with respect, share and celebrate unique expertise and diverse perspectives, and continuously raise the bar as we innovate and grow.

Necessary Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered
  • 2+ years of experience in software implementation, technical onboarding, data migration, application support, or a similar customer-facing delivery role involving complex systems
  • Experience working with data conversions, file-based imports or exports, data validation, reconciliation, or mapping activities in a production or client environment
  • Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications, databases, or related technical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues across data, application, and system layers and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong project execution skills, including managing multiple priorities, communicating status, and driving work to completion in a customer-facing environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, financial services, banking operations, document imaging, legacy system conversion, or other regulated data environments
  • Working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, relational or document-based databases, and tools used for data validation or transformation
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar systems to document project status, customer context, risks, and implementation progress
  • Experience delivering remote customer training, user enablement, or post-implementation handoff support

Extra points if you've worked in a growth stage company and understand shifting priorities in order to build a world-class product.
