Job Description

Responsible for the IT Project and Program management of all of the Data related projects for the organization.  This role will support a number of strategic initiatives and the candidate will need the ability to work with all of those other project managers to deliver the data and data warehouse pieces. Timing of delivery and understanding of the dependencies is critical.  This role includes mapping out the data portfolio of projects that will add subjects to our Teradata data warehouse and well as working on the reporting and analytic deliverables in various technologies.  Leading and Managing the programs and projects that will add subjects into the data warehouse.  Likewise, leading and managing project that result in improving our reporting and analytics capabilities.  This includes standard  program and project management including scope, risk, issue, budget and time-line management.  Additionally, managing all of the dependencies with other projects for the data consumption.   

Also includes working with third party providers to identify and deliver system services and solutions, as needed.  Works with various business partners to assure systems are operating per business requirements. Responsibilities may include proposal development, contract negotiation and contract compliance. Program managers ensure master plans and schedules are followed, developing solutions to program or project challenges, directing others for successful completion of project on time and on budget, and reporting to senior management progress, issues and risks. Understand how to setup an run a Steering Committee and assist with the setup of Data Governance for the organization.
Individuals in this role must understand how to deliver projects in a structured manner and have great organizational, communication, financial, team building and relationship management skills.

Data Projects - Portfolio Management:

 Understand the objectives of the strategic plan and the data delivery projects within it to meet the business objectives

    • Understand and manage the strategic initiative dependencies on the data projects
    • Assist the business with the creation of data governance
    • Drive efficiency of global business processes to achieve one version of the truth where possible 
    • Work on the Initiation process for data projects including team setup, budget approve, resource planning.
    • Responsible for running complex programs and projects.  For programs this individual will select, prioritize, link and align the projects\tasks within the program along with their structural dependencies to help achieve optimum benefits of the program.  This may include handling tasks that are involved in design and development when necessary
    • Facilitating and making trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time
    • Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation
    • Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverables. Project planning must include an integrated set of milestones and deliverables for business, IT, and third party activities. 
    • Defines requirements and plans the project life cycle deployment
    • Defines resources for project and program implementation
    • Develop RFP (Request for Proposal) for services and solutions when necessary
    • Identifies and solves project risks and issues effectively
    • Execute the change management and communication associated with moving the organization towards a data driven culture
    • Oversees and directs the project team managing conflicts within different groups
    • Responsible for developing transition tasks to ensure operational objectives are met after solution deployed including but not limited to Service Level Agreements, Identification of Support Model, Operational Documentation, and Training.  Delivers the project and works through remaining tasks to achieve/measure and document benefit for the project
    • Creates Project dashboards, including but not limited to tracking and reporting project status, team hours, financial metrics, and risks/issues
    • Responsible for Project Budgets of $2 to $5 Million annually
Qualifications
  •  More than ten years of related experience required
  • Experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Finance, Retail, Wholesale, Supply Chain, Logistics,  Marketing, Merchandising Corporate systems such as Human Resources/ Legal, or analytic
  • Strong project management skills/experience required
  • Possesses expert knowledge of project management tools, Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated ability in leading complex projects
  • PMP Certification desired
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced organization without lots of standard processes in place
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
