Job Title: Data Analyst
Location(s): Reston, VA
Description:

The Data Analyst uses a variety of tools to assist in data extraction, analysis, and reporting. With strong foundational skills in SQL, they will work with datasets from a variety of sources, write complex queries to join disparate data, and collaborate with the larger Enterprise Business Intelligence team to provide meaningful and actionable insights that solve business challenges across the organization. Strong analytical and detail-oriented thinking is required along with a solid understanding of relational databases.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other technically-intensive field;
  • Proficiency in constructing and interpreting complex SQL queries including joins, pivots, aggregation, basic case/if logic, common table expressions (CTEs), and window functions;
  • Understanding of and exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI;
  • Familiarity with data exploration and basic statistical analysis including hypothesis testing;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity in solving problems, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to perform with limited guidance;
  • Ability to communicate complex insights to teammates and non-technical stakeholders.

In addition, a preferred candidate will possess:

  • Experience in working with Snowflake databases;
  • Basic proficiency with manipulating data in R and/or Python;
  • Familiarity with basic machine learning concepts (i.e. multivariate regression) including how to perform and interpret them.

Skills:

  • SQL and any other Database Systems such as Snowflake, Writing Queries, Pivot, CTE, Analytical.
  • Proficiency in constructing and interpreting complex SQL queries including joins, pivots.

Education:

  • Bachelors in IT, Data Science or any relevant Technical fiel.
