General Summary:

The Senior Attorney - Artificial Intelligence will serve as a subject matter expert on legal and regulatory issues related to artificial intelligence (“AI”), including its procurement, deployment, and governance.


Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Business/operational
    • Advise business teams on the deployment and oversight of AI applications and models.
    • Advise on the use of company data in AI systems, including privacy, data governance, and intellectual property considerations.
    • Help translate complex AI and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non legal audiences.
  • Regulatory support
    • Monitor, analyze, and advise on emerging AI laws, regulations, and enforcement trends
    • Assist with regulatory inquiries, examinations, and incident response matters involving AI systems.
  • Governance: Support internal governance and control functions in managing AI risk and implementing enterprise-wide and department-specific policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Contract negotiation/support: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts involving AI technologies, data usage, cloud services, and thirdparty vendors.
  • Other, related legal tasks: Support the Business Law team as needed with other legal tasks related to AI technologies, data, data governance, and/or privacy

Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to multi-task and independently prioritize work
  • Presence and effective communication at all levels of the organization
  • Experience advising on algorithmic accountability, data ethics, or AI model governance
  • Experience advising on AI governance and data usage
  • Confidence to state an independent point of view

Work Experience and/or Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school required; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on technology, AI, data privacy, and cybersecurity law, gained in a law firm and/or inhouse environment.
Qualifications:

  • Presence and effective communication at all levels of the organization
