Job description

Function/Duties of Position

Wy'East Nursing Pathway Support:

  • Assist with data entry, managing Wy'East nursing email account, and updating student records. The Wy'east work study role may involve incidental exposure to protected student information as part of routine program operations. This could include viewing course scores while assisting with tracking student progress, handling application materials, participating in meetings where academic standing is discussed, or becoming aware of personal background information shared in support of student success. We recognize that these situations involve sensitive information protected under FERPA and take this responsibility seriously. Work study students are required to complete FERPA training and sign a confidentiality agreement to affirm their understanding of and commitment to safeguarding student privacy. Access to information will be limited to what is necessary for their assigned responsibilities, and students will be closely supervised within clearly defined guidelines. At the same time, work study students play a vital role in the success of the Wy'east program. Their contributions enhance our ability to serve students in a timely, relational, and culturally responsive manner. With appropriate safeguards in place, we believe their involvement offers significant benefit while upholding our commitment to ethical and legal standards.
  • Provide customer service via email, phone, and in-person, answering questions about Wy'East Nursing pathway
  • Help coordinate campus tours and information sessions for prospective students.
  • Assist in preparing Wy'East marketing materials
  • Help maintain and organize Wy'East Nursing curriculum and other administrative duties as specified related to faculty assistance
  • Support the Wy'East Nursing team during recruitment events, such as information sessions or application workshops

Social Media Management:

  • Create and curate content for the Wy'East Nursing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) including but not limited to:
    • Assist in drafting posts
    • Brainstorming content and strategies to increase engagement
    • Taking photos and videos to share with OHSU and NNACoE social media accounts
  • Meet regularly online with Wy'East Nursing Assistant Pathway Director and other student workers at OHSU SON to brainstorm ideas and plan content
    • Work to manage the content calendar and ensure regular posting.
  • Coordinate with other nursing students to represent the "student experience" on social channels.
  • Represent campus at events/activities to gather photo and video content (may include occasional evenings and weekends)
Required Qualifications
  • An OHSU Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours), OR PSU Undergraduate Program
  • Computer and software experience with includes MS Word, Excel, e-mail, web-site search tools and internet skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Creativity and familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and basic content creation.
  • Have access to mobile device to take photos and videos and ability to upload materials to OneDrive for Admissions Communications Manager to access.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain privacy.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in admissions or social media is a plus but not required.
  • General office experience
  • Experience working or volunteering within Native American communities
  • High level of organization and prioritization skills, team oriented, strong public relations and customer service skills, ability to work cooperatively with academic, unclassified management and classified personnel, strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, experience creating web content
