Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for accurately transcribing, entering, and maintaining patient clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for the he Seminole Tribe of Florida's Home Care Services Department. The individual supports Home Care Services clinicians, including Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs), by converting approved paper documentation into electronic patient records. The Health Data Entry Specialist compiles, sorts and verifies the accuracy of data before it is entered, and compares data entered with source documents to detect any errors, ensure regulatory compliance and continuity of care across the home health program. Incumbents are required to perform with a high degree of speed, accuracy, confidentiality, and completeness. High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Prior experience working as a health data entry specialist, medical records clerk, or in a healthcare documentation role is preferred. Prior experience working in home health, outpatient, or clinical healthcare settings preferred. Certification or formal training as a Health Data Entry Specialist or Medical Assistant preferred. Familiarity with CNA/Home Health Aide documentation and workflows preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
