Surplus Sales Cashier/Inventory Control - Student Position

Looking for hands-on work experience in a dynamic environment? Surplus Sales is hiring motivated student employees to assist with inventory, sales, and customer service. This position offers flexible hours during the semester with the option to continue through summer and winter breaks.

Schedule:

  • Shifts available Monday-Friday between 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
  • Up to 25 hours per week (must be available Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for sale day).

Responsibilities:

  • Work with staff to pick up and occasionally deliver items across campus.
  • Process and record incoming inventory from departments, state agencies, and off-campus sources.
  • Assist with setting up sale items and help customers with loading purchases.
  • Cashier during public sales, including handling payments and making change.
  • Perform data entry and basic recordkeeping.
  • Lift and move items (up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally, such as chairs, desks, and computers).

Qualifications:
Because this position requires driving a state vehicle, applicants must:

  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Have fewer than three moving violations and/or at-fault accidents within the past two years
  • Have no OWI/DUI violations within the past year
  • If previously suspended/revoked, be at least one year past reinstatement
  • Possess at least two years of licensed driving experience
