Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a stable, enterprise organization in Draper, UT is seeking a Senior Data Engineer.
Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain secure, high-performing data platforms that support analytics, data science, and machine learning initiatives at scale. This role plays a critical part in delivering trusted, production-ready data across the business and partners closely with analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain secure, compliant data pipelines, datasets, tables, views, and procedures
* Optimize and monitor data pipelines to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
* Partner with analytics and data science teams to operationalize insights in production environments
* Integrate, transform, and consolidate data from structured and unstructured data sources
* Evaluate and integrate second- and third-party data sources to support analytics and applications
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production data issues
* Review ETL/ELT pipelines for data quality, validation, performance, and maintainability
* Assess and recommend tools and processes to improve engineering efficiency and code quality
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
* 6+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
* 4+ years of related experience with a Master's degree
* 3+ years of experience working with large data sets
* 1+ years of cloud-based data experience
* Strong understanding of software design concepts and software architecture
Technical Skills:
* Databases: Snowflake, SQL Server
* Data Engineering: ETL/ELT, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, DBT, Databricks
* Cloud & Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Logic Apps
* Storage & Lakehouse: Azure Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake
* Data Modeling: Kimball, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema
* Programming: Python, Scala, Java, VB (or similar)
* CI/CD & DevOps: Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
* Methodologies: Agile frameworks
* Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
