Summary Manage, train and develop and coordinate the work efforts of Line Supervisors and direct labor associates to produce Grayhill products in our LaGrange facility.

This is a second shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Monitor operator and cell performances for productivity improvement and scrap reduction opportunities.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Evaluate and recommend standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolve associate issues or refer issues to Operations Leader for action.
  • Document all procedures and specifications relating to assigned programs and projects.
  • Lead monthly coordination meetings with Line Supervisors.
  • Insure that all company policies and procedures are communicated appropriately.
  • Act as a liaison between Production and other departments, communicating deviations from drawings and specifications to Quality, Engineering and other groups, and update manufacturing instructions.
  • In conjunction with Quality Control and Engineering, analyze returned materials and goods for manufacturing errors and ensure errors are corrected.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage 5-8 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 100-200 associates in the Production Department and Tool Room. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises six non-supervisory associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required.
  • Three to five years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
