Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Job Location: Atlantic City, NJ
Rate: 65 - 70/hr
Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a talented Network Engineer specializing in network transport and security to support the test, development, deployment, and on-going support of a nationwide, mission-critical communication system. You will be working to help support the global aviation community with advanced systems and services that significantly increase the safety, security, and capacity of global air traffic management systems to meet the growing demand of air transportation operations. This position is located at the FAA William J Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ.
Essential Functions:
โ€ข Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management and system performance testing to ensure requirements compliance.
โ€ข Act as engineering support to network security operations for the testing and configuration of new information security products and services.
โ€ข Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based security architectures to maintain compliance with customer-tailored National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls.
โ€ข Be able to explain complex issues, data flows, and packet analysis to the customer in a way they can understand. Be able to perform packet captures and analysis of packet captures to identify anomalous behavior and traffic patterns.
Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field minimum six (6) years of prior relevant experience. Otherwise, Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior related experience.
โ€ข Relevant network experience with security technology management, including system test, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a global enterprise environment.
โ€ข Experience integrating large complex multi-vendor solutions.
โ€ข Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA public trust clearance.
Preferred Technical Skills & Experience:
โ€ข Experience and demonstrated working knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP-based networking architectures and communications.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to use packet capture utilities to understand TCP data flows and troubleshoot and resolve TC/IP network transport issues.
โ€ข Experience creating and maintaining site-to-site and client IPSec/VPN solutions.
โ€ข Experience designing, implementing, and supporting security gateway solutions including Firewalls, NAT, and IPSec VPNs.
โ€ข Hands-on experience working with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
โ€ข Advanced certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, etc
โ€ข Experience serving government customers in a network security environment a plus.
โ€ข Experience in FAA National Airspace System (NAS) telecommunications or air traffic management a plus
โ€ข Outstanding people and interpersonal skills. Capable of working well with internal & external customers.
โ€ข Strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
