Data Enablement information

What is data enablement?

Data enablement is the process of making data accessible, usable, and valuable across an organization. It involves implementing tools, processes, and strategies that empower employees to access, analyze, and act on data efficiently. The goal of data enablement is to break down data silos, improve data literacy, and support better decision-making by ensuring the right people have the right data at the right time.

How does a data enablement professional typically collaborate with other departments to drive data-driven decision-making?

Data Enablement professionals work closely with departments such as marketing, finance, operations, and IT to ensure that accurate, accessible data informs strategic decisions. They often facilitate data literacy training, help teams define data requirements, and establish efficient data pipelines. Collaboration is key—regular meetings, workshops, and cross-functional projects are common to align data initiatives with business goals. This role also involves translating complex data concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in data enablement, and why are they important?

To thrive in Data Enablement, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of data management principles, and experience with data governance, often supported by a degree in data science, information technology, or a related field. Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Tableau or Power BI), data integration platforms, and database systems are commonly required, along with certifications like CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional). Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills help you translate data insights into actionable business strategies and foster data literacy across teams. These competencies are crucial for ensuring high-quality, accessible data that drives informed decision-making and organizational growth.

What is the difference between Data Enablement vs Data Analyst?

Data Enablement focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that allow organizations to access and utilize data effectively. In contrast, Data Analysts interpret and analyze data to provide actionable insights. While both roles work with data, Data Enablement is more technical and infrastructure-oriented, whereas Data Analysts are more focused on analysis and reporting.

Job description

About the company

At the company, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build the company should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.

AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at the company. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.

About the Role:

Partnerships are one of the company’s strategic growth channels. As a Partner Enablement Manager, you'll be at the heart of making those partnerships extraordinary and impactful to the company’s business.

In this role, you'll own the end-to-end enablement strategy for our channel partner ecosystem—designing and delivering onboarding, continuous education and certification programs, and just-in-time resources that help partners and their teams confidently recommend and refer the company. You'll work closely with the Channel Partnerships team, revenue teams, product, and marketing to ensure every partner has the knowledge and tools they need to drive real business results.

This is a senior individual contributor role that requires equal parts strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority, and rapidly building scalable programs that meet our partners where they are.

About the Team:

This role is part of the go-to-market team responsible for driving pipeline and fueling growth across the company's channel partners. We combine creativity, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration to design campaigns that reach, engage, and convert the right audiences at scale. Together, we've helped the company grow to serve hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide, and we're just getting started.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
  • Define the company's partner enablement methodology and establish the frameworks, principles, and standards that other enablement and channel teams adopt — ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across partner segments and GTM programs. Build off of, adapt, and improve the existing enablement programs that exist today.
  • Serve as the internal authority on partner learning strategy, advising senior leadership on enablement investment, program design, and the conditions required for partners to activate, grow, and contribute to the company's channel revenue targets.
  • Own function-level accountability for partner enablement outcomes, including partner-sourced revenue contribution, partner activation rates, and program ROI — and use that data to influence the company's broader channel partner strategy and GTM prioritization.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on partner enablement strategy across Revenue, Revenue Operations, Product, and Marketing at the VP and Director level, ensuring the partner experience is coherent, well-resourced, and continuously improving.
  • Design and deliver education programs, certification tracks, and just-in-time resources tailored to the specific professional needs of partners, applying learner-centered design principles with a bias toward measurable performance outcomes.
  • Monitor the industry, regulatory landscape, and competitive dynamics, translating emerging trends into proactive enablement strategies before business needs are fully defined.
  • Research and apply emerging AI tools and methodologies to accelerate program design, development, and delivery at scale — and help define the company's point of view on AI's role in partner enablement going forward alongside other enablement craft peers.
Here’s what we're looking for:
  • Substantial experience in partner enablement, sales enablement, or professional training
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering highly effective enablement programs that drive measurable improvements in partner activation, engagement, and revenue contribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead learning initiatives end-to-end—from needs analysis through delivery and post-program evaluation—while managing multiple competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Experience designing and facilitating training sessions for professional audiences
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally to ensure learning objectives translate into real partner performance outcomes.
  • Solid foundation in education design, with the judgment to select appropriate modalities based on audience, speed, scale, and impact.
  • Hands-on experience with content creation, curation, and knowledge management platforms, paired with a genuine passion for partnerships and a creative approach to making partners more successful.
  • Comfort operating in urgency and ambiguity, with the resilience, conflict management skills, and composure required to thrive in a fast-paced, partner-facing environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% annually to partner training events and industry conferences.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $129,000/yr to $157,000/yr in Denver and Scottsdale and $154,000/yr to $188,000/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a the company office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at the company.
