Our client is a roadway system, and as a part of their digital transformation, they are implementing a solution based on SAP BRIM & Microsoft Dynamics CE.


Data-Core Systems Inc. is seekinganSAP Functional Consultant - Project Systems to join our Consulting team. You will participate and effectively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. You will provide technical expertise and systems design for individual initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with other SME consultants from our existing team.


Roles & Responsibilities:

SAP Project Systems Functional Support.

  • Configure and support SAP Project Systems (PS) functionality and business processes.
  • Design and maintain solutions supporting:
    • Project structures and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
    • Project planning and scheduling.
    • Budgeting and forecasting.
    • Cost planning and tracking.
    • Capital investment management.
    • Revenue and settlement processes.
    • Resource planning and project reporting.
  • Ensure alignment between SAP PS solutions and business requirements.

Business Process Analysis & Requirements Gathering.

  • Collaborate with project management, finance, engineering, procurement, and operational stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze current-state project management and financial processes and recommend SAP best-practice solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, process reviews, and solution design sessions.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations.

Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration.

  • Support integration between SAP PS and related SAP modules, including:
    • SAP FI/CO.
    • SAP Funds Management (FM).
    • SAP Materials Management (MM).
    • SAP Plant Maintenance (PM).
    • SAP Asset Accounting (AA).
    • SAP Procurement and Supply Chain processes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and integration architects to support interfaces and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure accurate project cost tracking, settlements, and financial reporting.

Project Planning & Financial Management.

  • Configure and support:
    • Project profiles.
    • Network activities.
    • Cost planning structures.
    • Settlement rules.
    • Investment profiles.
    • Budget availability controls.
  • Support capital project accounting and project lifecycle management processes.
  • Assist with forecasting, earned value tracking, and financial reconciliation activities.

Testing & Quality Assurance.

  • Develop and execute:
    • Functional test plans.
    • Integration test scenarios.
    • User acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Regression testing.
  • Validate project accounting, budgeting, reporting, and integration functionality.
  • Support issue resolution, defect analysis, and production support activities.

Reporting & Analytics Support.

  • Support development and validation of:
    • Project cost reports.
    • Capital project dashboards.
    • Budget and forecast reporting.
    • Resource utilization reporting.
    • Financial reconciliation reports.
  • Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to ensure accurate availability of project data.

Documentation & Governance.

  • Create and maintain:
    • Functional specifications.
    • Configuration documentation.
    • Process flows.
    • User guides.
    • Training materials.
    • Operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, financial controls, and audit requirements.
  • Support change management and release management activities.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of SAP functional consulting experience.
  • 5+ years of direct SAP Project Systems (PS) experience.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise project management and capital project implementations.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting:
    • WBS structures.
    • Networks and activities.
    • Budget planning and availability control.
    • Cost allocation and settlements.
    • Project lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Capital project accounting.
    • Financial controls and compliance.
    • SAP integration concepts.
    • Project reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with:
    • SAP FI/CO.
    • SAP Asset Accounting.
    • SAP Procurement integration.
    • Functional specifications and testing documentation.
  • Experience in transportation, utilities, infrastructure, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or public sector industries.
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital programs and enterprise project portfolios.
  • Experience with:
    • SAP Funds Management (FM).
    • SAP Plant Maintenance (PM).
    • SAP Fiori applications.
    • SAP Analytics Cloud or reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.


Certifications & Education Qualifications:

  • Preferred certifications include one or more of the following:
    • SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Project Systems.
      • SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Financial Accounting (FI).
    • SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Management Accounting (CO).
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
    • SAP S/4HANA certifications preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
