Position Title: Data Center Solutions Architect


Base Salary: $131,869 to $177,263 annually DOE

Commission: Target commission of $30,000 annually

Job Summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking an experienced and dynamic Data Center Solutions Architect to lead the development and delivery of comprehensive colocation and regional data center solutions for businesses. This role requires a deep understanding of data center infrastructure and the ability to collaborate with consulting professionals, data center owners, and colocation providers to meet customer needs. As a subject matter expert, the Solutions Architect will play a critical role in supporting the sales team to drive revenue growth.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Sales Support

· Collaborate with consulting professionals, data center owners, and colocation providers to design and deliver tailored Ziply Fiber colocation and regional data center solutions.

· Assist the sales team in identifying opportunities, creating proposals, and closing deals by aligning solutions with business needs.

· Build strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

· Deliver compelling presentations, proof-of-concepts, and technical demonstrations to stakeholders.


Solution Architecture & Technical Expertise

· Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in data center infrastructure, providing technical guidance and expertise during customer engagements.

· Develop high-level solution designs and architectures that address customer requirements.

· Conduct technical assessments of client environments to recommend optimal solutions.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and best practices in all proposed solutions.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Industry Leadership

· Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and operations, to ensure seamless implementation of solutions.

· Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive positioning within the data center space.

· Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in designing and delivering data center solutions, including colocation services.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure components such as power systems, cooling technologies, network connectivity, security measures, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess customer needs and recommend effective solutions.

· Understanding of how technology can be applied to address or accelerate customer business objectives.

· Proficient at both informal and formal presentations to large technical and non-technical audiences.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.


Preferred Qualifications:

· Masters’ degree in a relevant field.

  • Familiarity with Ziply Fiber’s operating regions (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana) is highly desirable.

· Demonstrated ability to lead customer collaboration, discovery, and whiteboard sessions to draw out technology solutions while establishing lasting relationships with customers.

· Ability to communicate effectively; internally and externally.

· Excellent communications skills include writing, presenting, as well as accuracy and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations.

· Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.

· Strong customer service and relationship building skills.

· Ability to drive on behalf of the company in a safe and responsible manner.
