Lead the design, architecture standards, implementation, and management of the IT Network environment. Interaction with diverse customers, other service groups, outsourced service providers, and other technical groups is a key part to this role. This position is responsible for oversight of designs for complex wired and wireless implementations at new and existing sites both domestic and international.

- Work with a global team and external service providers to create design reviews for proposed architectures.

-Provide recommendations on viability, implementation strategies and optimal implementation of solutions.

-Ensure that changes to network topologies are made with minimal down-time.

-Responsible for setting strategic and technical direction for network hardware and systems.

-Research, identify and resolve network and hardware issues.

-Assess and upgrade older networks as needed and in accordance with specified plans.

- The role will also involve an element of IP telephony design and support and will be the backup to the telephony engineer.

- Plan and coordinate system utilization and capacity, involving configuration and testing with vendor.

- Monitor, document, and control infrastructure performance for response, throughput, and availability.

- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, coordinate with peers, external service providers and the business to deliver solutions to support business growth and existing operations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years working with medium to large companies networks in engineering/design roles, primarily in Networking, Wireless and Voice, with technical deployment experience.

-Support for commercial teams in pricing networking solutions for new sites.

- 8+ years experience developing and implementing the technical architecture and physical design of the network; analyze existing voice and data networks and recommend solutions.

- Experienced in providing end-user assistance for Solution Design, Training and Troubleshooting.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.

- Competent with networking equipment including Cisco wireless hardware, routers and switches; wireless and network Management platforms. Must be someone who has had responsibility for planning, implementing, and maintaining large complex networks.

- Excellent knowledge of protocols and services.

DESIRED

- CCNA/CCNP (wireless and voice) certification is desired.
