Overview
Monitors, tracks, analyzes and reports on Data Center operating and capital plans to Management to assist in decision making. Monitors the internal IT asset inventory and vendor contract compliance, vendor management, financial analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working with all levels of management concerning the Data Center Operating and Capital planning and forecasting to control expenditures and provide data to assist in decision making.
  • Maintains detailed cost tracking systems by account on each vendor and contract to facilitate accurate forecasting to be used in meeting company financial goals and responsible for expense and invoice validation for Data Center purchases.
  • Acts as a lead and focal point between IT Financial/Contract Management and Finance Department in regards to prepaid expensing, variance analysis, financial statement review and forecasting. Responsible to evaluate and review Data Center expenses relating to non-labor spending to determine appropriate maintenance coverage at the lowest possible cost.
  • Provides detailed analysis outlining vendor pricing and operating impacts to assist Management in the decision making process regarding vendor selection. This includes mentoring and training department employees (IT Financial/Contract Management Specialists and Analysts) regarding accounting policies surrounding the Data Center financials and hardware purchasing strategies to ensure policies and practices are maintained.
  • Maintains all records relating to vendor contracts and software / hardware purchases to insure that Paychex complies with all legal aspects of it's relationships with third parties. This includes license compliance, hardware disposals, contract termination and release conditions.
  • Creates and enforces policies and procedures utilized by IT Operations relating to IT product acquisition and use. Provides review and control of Mutual Non-Disclosure and related internal controls to management in order to facilitate IT governance and compliance mandates.
  • Tracks the physical location of IT Server, Server Software and Storage assets in the Service Center database. Provides timely reporting of asset status, location and any other related attributes to assure proper control.
  • Audits datacenter facilities records to validate the accuracy of our hardware data against what has been deployed to that facility.
  • Audits license deployment against licenses purchased to assure proper controls.
  • Interfaces with and participates in configuration management implementation and structure management teams to insure that the IT Financial/Contract Management department objectives are in alignment with IT deliverables.
  • Maintains, tracks and reviews contact and related financial information on all Data Center related IT vendors doing business with Paychex to determine vendor stability.
  • Manages purchasing relationship with Data Center IT related vendors by coordinating the purchases with IT Operations personnel and the vendor as well as entering and updating the vendor tables in Service Center for control purposes.
  • Responsible for creating vendor management Service Level Agreements which will provide minimum requirements for discounting, product roadmap reviews, account reviews, support quality and overall performance. This will also include generating vendor metric reports which will be used as feedback to our vendors for improvements.
  • Negotiates all price breaks by coordinating purchases with month end or other significant purchasing deadlines and notifies Supply Management to initiate purchase orders.
  • Works with Management to set a strategic purchasing plan and executes cost reductions based on the plan for expense control.
  • Responsible to approve invoices up to $25,000 in adherence with Corporate accounting practices.
  • Researches variance to budget concerns as well as any financial transactions that impact IT related accounts. Answers general ledger questionnaires from Accounting by providing details behind purchases to assist in cost controls.
  • Creates and maintains operating budget information for the Data Center and PC Management cost centers to assure that these budgets are monitored. Works with Financial Planning and Analysis department during the budget process and provides cost center specific analysis regarding capital deployment planning and operating related expenses for IT purchases.
  • Responsible for researching, analyzing and producing IT operating and capital financial reports to provide management with forecasts for remaining fiscal year and future years. This will include variance analysis, highlighting operating savings and presentation of the results to senior management for cost controls.
  • Reviews all IT Data Center related change requests for accuracy and to check for "in budget" status. Tracks all IT related budget initiatives in Service Center database for review and reporting in support of cost controls.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $78,700.00 - $118,900.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
