Job Title: Data Center Project Engineer
Job Description
The Data Center Project Engineer oversees and manages the technical aspects of data center power projects from due diligence through project completion. This role makes decisions and recommendations that significantly impact major engineering activities, resolves complex technical issues, and coordinates both internal and external engineering support to ensure successful, standardized, and timely project delivery in a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all technical aspects of data center power projects from initial due diligence through final project completion.
  • Make engineering decisions and recommendations that have significant impact on major project activities and outcomes.
  • Resolve complex technical issues related to design, engineering, and power systems to maintain project quality and reliability.
  • Support internal stakeholders by providing clear technical guidance, updates, and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage external engineering resources and their deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements, standards, and timelines.
  • Coordinate internal engineering resources and subject matter experts to provide specialized technical support for project execution.
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams to drive standardized, high-quality project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in infrastructure, power, and mission-critical systems to ensure integrated project solutions.
  • Monitor project engineering progress, identify risks or issues, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices for data center and power projects.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels to report on project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical execution.
Essential Skills
  • Approximately 8+ years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.
  • Engineering and project management experience supporting infrastructure, power, or mission-critical projects is preferred.
  • Experience in data center environments or power delivery systems is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing internal and external engineering resources on complex projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in design and engineering, particularly related to power projects and energy storage systems such as BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners.
  • Solid project management skills, including planning, coordination, and oversight of engineering deliverables.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues independently and make sound engineering recommendations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and BESS storage solutions.
  • Experience working on data center power projects or similar mission-critical facilities.
  • Ability to operate as a self-starter, taking initiative and ownership of technical responsibilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working across multidisciplinary teams and functions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Juno Beach, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
