Schedule: Hybrid 3 days a week onsite (Tues-Thurs), 2 days remote
 W2/ 6 months Contract to Perm
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Network Engineer to join our data center networking team. This role is focused on the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of a global, Cisco-centric data center network environment. The ideal candidate will provide Level 3 engineering execution, supporting critical infrastructure including Cisco ACI fabrics and VPN solutions, while contributing to new data center builds and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain all data center network infrastructure, including Cisco ACI fabrics, the Cisco Nexus switching environment, and VPN infrastructure.
  • Assist with standing up new data centers, building out new network architectures, and implementing connectivity between legacy and new environments.
  • Perform software upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management for ACI fabrics and other network devices.
  • Assist in migrating workloads between on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using scripting and APIs to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
  • Utilize network telemetry and monitoring platforms to proactively identify issues and improve network reliability.
  • Perform packet-level analysis using tools like SPAN, ERSPAN, and packet brokers to diagnose complex connectivity issues.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and change management processes.
Required Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments, with a deep understanding of data center networking architecture.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong practical experience with Cisco ACI, including operating and supporting complex fabrics.
  • Proficiency with Cisco Nexus switching platforms and Cisco VPN technologies.
  • Proven ability to perform packet capture and protocol-level troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of network automation using scripting languages and APIs.
  • Experience with network telemetry, monitoring, and observability tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or telecom-level network environments.
  • Experience supporting global data center infrastructure.
  • Exposure to AWS and/or GCP networking environments.
  • Experience supporting migrations between on-premise and cloud environments.
