Job Summary:
ShiftCode Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer to play a key role in the architecture, design, project management, and operations of a global network. The role involves providing tier 3/4 support for the global data center network and ensuring high-quality network performance for users and applications.
Responsibilities:
• Network architecture and design engineering scalable, high-performance, secure, highly available data center-based solutions
• Ensure compliance with hardware/software/licensing versions
• Lead network infrastructure projects from design to implementation ensuring timely deliver and alignment with business objectives
• Strict adherence to change management processes
• Participate/lead KT sessions and operational handover
• Support and strong troubleshooting of the global network environments. This will include primarily tier 3/4 support. This position will address network and cloud issues with highly skilled knowledge and robust operational and troubleshooting skills
• Responsible for problem management and analysis (including participating in RCA efforts)
• Ensures network and supporting technologies are successfully delivered. This includes operational projects, incidents, changes, requests, DR, network performance analysis, documentation, and SLA achievement
• Ensures delivery of stable and reliable network services, meeting/exceeding optimized Service Level Agreements
• Ensures network optimization is continually performed and opportunities for tooling and automation are identified and implemented
• Help create and participate in global network standards, and implementing standardization to all global networks, including support and standardization on multi-vendor platforms
• Upgrades and automates a global network/cloud monitoring environment and oversees day-to-day performance monitoring
• Performs network troubleshooting and fault analysis with the goal of continuous improvement
• Maintains and improves network analysis, and reporting tools
• Manages the application of configuration changes and service requests using WK systems and ITIL processes
• Develops and delivers timely reporting to address all business requirements
• Supports technical plans as needed to foster adoption of new technologies
• Acts as a mentor, technical SME, and point of escalation for the team
• Provides network technical, service management and functional requirements specifications
Qualifications:
Required:
• Deep expertise in Data Center technologies, Cisco NX-OS, Cisco Firepower, Cisco FMC, Fortinet, Cisco NDFC, Cisco DNA Center, and automation technologies like Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
• Strong track record of success in managing a hybrid network with data center (primary), campus & cloud-based network technologies.
• Experience with Cloud certifications and strong cloud network experience (Azure, GCP, and AWS preferred).
• Wide Area Network (WAN) and SDWAN experience.
• Experience with disparate transport networks, including Internet, MPLS.
• Design, implement, and manage route-based and policy-based VPN solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
• Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, automation workflows, and standard operating procedures.
• Experience with Equinix services, including Colocation, Network Edge, Equinix Fabric, Equinix FCR, Equinix Portal/Marketplace.
• Implement IT security best practices, including firewall configurations, network micro/macro segmentation.
• Expert in problem isolation and identification/troubleshooting.
• Expert in exterior gateway routing protocols (eBGP/iBGP) and interior gateway routing protocols (OSPF).
• Expert in cloud route table optimization and troubleshooting.
• Expert with NDFC (Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller).
• Expert with Cisco DNA Center (including SWIM).
• Expert in Automation, including POAP, Terraform, Python, Ansible.
• Expert in cloud security technologies.
• Expert with STP and STP optimization.
• Expert with IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation.
• Expert with tagging technologies and encapsulation.
• Expert with QOS (marking, classification, shaping, policing).
• Expert with First-Hop redundancy protocols (VRRP/HSRP/GLBP).
• BS/MS or equivalent work experience.
• Cisco CCNP or CCIE (Enterprise/Data Center/Security), Cisco DevNet preferred.
• IaC/Automation certifications: Terraform Associate, Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional, Red Hat Enterprise Ansible certifications, Python PCEP, PCAP, or PCPP.
• Cloud certifications with networking focus: Azure Network Engineer, GCP Associate/Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty.
• 10 or more years of experience in a technical network position supporting networks.
• 6 or more years of experience in a large, global environment is preferred.
• Strong network and cloud operational experience.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.
• Strong communications (oral and written) and relationship skills across all levels.
