The Data Center Engineer position will support the installation of the computing hardware and cabling systems for the Data Center computer room floor. The position requires strong knowledge and experience with Data Center class computing systems, as well as the electrical and mechanical systems utilized in the Data Center.

Your Impact:
• Analyze Data Center SAN, server, and network hardware installation requests and project documents to develop reliable implementation solutions.
• Ensure all Data Center installations meet the overall project objective and follow the appropriate standards (i.e., correct life cycle, connection types, disaster recovery method)
• Maintain a highly developed understanding of changes to the Data Center environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Data Center infrastructure issues.

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience installing rack mounted computer hardware and other computer related devices.
  • Experience installing Category 6/6A copper cabling and OM3/OM4 multimode fiber cabling.
  • Understanding of HVAC or electrical principles
  • Ability and willingness to be on call weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call production support rotation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience installing HPE, IBM, and/or Dell servers in a Data Center environment.
  • Experience installing network and security devices (Cisco, Palo)
  • Experience with design and installation of structured cabling systems
  • Experience with patch panels and cable mapping techniques
  • Experience supporting electrical and mechanical systems in Data Center environment.
  • Experience participating as a team member on large projects.
