TITLE: Data Engineer

LOCATION: Hybrid in New York City

SALARY: $110,000 - $140,000

The Role:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. This team is building the data foundations of Canoe’s industry-leading Alts Data Platform, and will play a critical role in its growth and expansion of offerings over the coming years. You will play a key role in designing and building scalable, reliable, and maintainable data systems, contributing to the architecture and development of our data platform, and helping define the Data Engineering team’s future direction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to the design and development of our Data platform.

  • Work closely with AI / ML Engineers to build intelligence and automation into all Canoe systems.

  • Design and implement data models, data pipelines, and data architectures in support of new Canoe product offerings.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams as Data Engineering’s representative.

  • Build observable systems and be an organization leader in operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, with at least two in a Data Engineering role

  • Experience with SQL Databases and relational data modeling.

  • Experience working with data at scale.

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies.

  • Great communication skills.

  • A history of working well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with our core technologies: Kafka(preferred), PostgreSQL or similar relational database, AWS or similar cloud service, Snowflake or redshift , Dbt (preferred), Airflow or similar orchestration tool.
