Job description

Job Title: Data Center TechnicianJob Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge of hardware, cabling, and operational procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient data center operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform equipment startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, servers, drives, switches) following documented procedures, checklists, and deployment guidelines
  • Perform post-deployment quality checks to verify proper grounding, labeling, staging, and cabling in accordance with safety standards and Network Design Tasks (NDTs)
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components using established processes
  • Execute hardware decommissioning and lifecycle activities (e.g., upgrades, replacements, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision
  • Follow established communication, reporting, and escalation procedures; promptly escalate issues to Data Center Technician Leads as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for deployments, incidents, and changes

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and associated components
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
