Entry-Level Traveling Data Center Technician (100% Travel)

Location: El Paso, TX (required home base)

Travel: 100% Nationwide Travel Required

Overview

TEKsystems is hiring Entry-Level Traveling Technicians based out of El Paso, TX to support large-scale data center builds across the United States.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to break into the fast-growing data center industry. No advanced experience required—hands-on training is provided on-site. We are looking for dependable, motivated individuals ready to travel full-time and grow their careers in tech infrastructure.


What You’ll Be Doing

As a Traveling Data Center Technician, you will assist with installing and supporting structured cabling systems:

  • Pull and route low-voltage cabling (copper & fiber)
  • Install cable trays, J-hooks, and support structures
  • Rack and stack network equipment
  • Perform basic cable terminations (punch-downs, connectors)
  • Label, organize, and dress cabling
  • Read and follow blueprints and construction plans
  • Assist with data closet buildouts (racks, patch panels, hardware)
  • Follow safety standards on active job sites

Requirements
  • Must be based in El Paso, TX
  • Willingness to travel 100% across the United States
  • Comfortable working in construction or data center environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or on ladders
  • Experience with hand tools or willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
  • Ability to pass drug test and check

Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Telecom, cabling, or construction experience
  • Familiarity with low-voltage systems
  • Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings
