Job description

About the Opportunity

We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join a long-term data center construction project in Temple, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level cable technicians, cable installers, low-voltage professionals, trade school graduates, or individuals looking to build a career in the telecommunications industry.

This project offers hands-on experience working on one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in construction and technology. Candidates will receive training, work alongside experienced technicians, and gain valuable skills in structured cabling and data center infrastructure.


Travel and Training Opportunity

Selected candidates will attend paid training at an active project site in either Iowa or Ohio beginning in early September.

Training Benefits:
  • 3 to 6 weeks of training
  • $50/day per diem (paid 7 days per week)
  • Flights or mileage covered
  • Hotel accommodations provided
  • Return to Temple, TX at the completion of training
  • Begin Texas project in early October

We are also interested in speaking with qualified candidates who prefer not to travel.

  • Current Hours: 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM
  • Potential transition to 10-hour shifts as project demands increase

Job Responsibilities

As a Cable Technician I, you will support the installation and construction of critical data center infrastructure by:

  • Pulling and routing Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling
  • Assisting technicians with installations
  • Handling and distributing materials throughout the job site
  • Installing cable tray, wireway, and support structures
  • Mounting racks, patch panels, and telecommunications equipment
  • Building telecommunications closets and equipment rooms
  • Installing grounding systems for racks and equipment
  • Assisting with terminations and punch-downs
  • Utilizing hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Working on ladders and elevated work areas
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

QualificationsRequired:
  • Reliable transportation to the Temple job site
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various conditions
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • OSHA 10 Certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
Preferred:
  • Experience pulling cable
  • Data center, construction, low-voltage, or telecom experience
  • Cat6 installation experience
  • Punch-down and termination experience
  • Trade school or vocational training in low voltage or communications systems
