Job Position: Voice & Data Technician
Pay Rate: $21 $23/hr
Build Your Career in Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure
TradeSTAR is seeking an experienced Voice & Data Technician for commercial projects in the San Antonio area. This is a great opportunity for a technician with some low-voltage or construction experience who is ready to strengthen their skills and build a long-term career in structured cabling.
If you have hands-on experience pulling cable, installing support structures, and terminating network cabling, we want to hear from you.
Job Duties
Pull, identify, route, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
Install support structures including J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, and cable tray or ladder rack
Perform workstation outlet terminations
Assist with closet dressing and termination of network equipment
Read and interpret blueprints and identify cable pathways
Follow EIA/TIA standards and commercial installation practices
Use basic industry-specific testing equipment
Maintain safe, organized, and professional work areas
Requirements
6 months to 2 years of structured cabling or low-voltage experience preferred
Familiarity with commercial voice and data cabling installations
Experience pulling and labeling copper and fiber cabling
Basic understanding of network cabling color codes and terminations
Comfortable using hand tools and basic test equipment
Ability to read blueprints and follow installation plans
Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail
Reliable transportation and valid driver s license
Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
Willingness to work days, nights, or weekends as project requirements dictate
