Data ManagerIntroduction:

The Data Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, logical DBAs, and Project Managers. They will enforce data governance policies, establish database usage guidelines, and architecture standards. The Data Manager will remove blockers for Data Architects, escalating cross-team dependencies and resourcing conflicts as needed. Additionally, they will have experience implementing modern data platforms and Data Lake/Lakehouse concepts.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, logical DBAs, and Project Managers
  • Enforce data governance policies and establish database usage guidelines and architecture standards
  • Remove blockers for Data Architects, escalating cross-team dependencies and resourcing conflicts as needed
  • Experience implementing modern data platforms and Data Lake/Lakehouse concepts (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse)
  • Experience with data virtualization platforms like Denodo
  • Familiarity with Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) or similar multi-layer data lake frameworks
  • Experience with real-time streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices
  • Obtain industry certifications in cloud or data platforms
Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience as a Data Architect, Manager, and Data Governance
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team
