Data Annotation Project Manager information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Data Annotation Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Annotation Project Manager, you need strong project management skills, a solid understanding of data annotation processes, and experience with quality assurance, often supported by a degree in a relevant field. Familiarity with annotation tools (like Labelbox or Supervisely), workflow management platforms, and sometimes agile or PMP certification is highly beneficial. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and leadership abilities help you effectively coordinate teams and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards. These skills are essential for managing complex annotation projects efficiently, maintaining data integrity, and supporting successful machine learning outcomes.

What are some common challenges faced by Data Annotation Project Managers, and how can they be managed effectively?

One of the primary challenges Data Annotation Project Managers face is ensuring high-quality, consistent labeling across large and sometimes distributed annotation teams. Managing tight deadlines while maintaining annotation accuracy requires effective training, clear guidelines, and regular quality checks. Additionally, balancing communication between data scientists, clients, and annotators is crucial to align expectations and resolve ambiguities quickly. Successful managers often implement robust feedback loops, leverage annotation tools with built-in quality control features, and foster an open environment for continuous improvement.

What is a Data Annotation Project Manager?

A Data Annotation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects that involve labeling and categorizing data, such as images, text, or audio, to train machine learning models. They coordinate teams of annotators, manage project timelines, and ensure the quality and accuracy of the annotated data. This role often acts as a bridge between data scientists, clients, and annotation teams, ensuring project requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

Job description

Project Manager – Low Voltage / Physical Security

System Integrations | Full-Time | On-Site

About Us

For over 30 years, System Integrations has delivered innovative technology services built on customer service and accountability. We value dependability, optimism, innovation, professionalism, and a good sense of humor. If you're passionate about what you do and love being challenged to achieve excellence — we'd love to meet you.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Low Voltage Project Manager to join our Project Planning & Implementation (PP&I) team. You'll own the full project lifecycle — from kickoff to closeout — delivering physical and electronic security projects on time, on budget, and to spec. You're a people-person who thrives leading cross-functional teams, managing client expectations, and solving problems before they become issues.

What You'll Do

Project Planning & Initiation

  • Initiate 100% of projects in ConnectWise within 3 days of assignment, with complete financials, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Maintain a full project portfolio in SmartSheet for backlog assessment and revenue projection.

Execution & Risk Management

  • Deliver projects within 5% of original budget; document all Change Orders in the financial tracker.
  • Monitor labor usage, keeping unbilled labor below 15% and maintaining 80% billable utilization.

Close-Out & Quality Assurance

  • Complete all close-out activities and deliver Site Owl documentation to customers within 10 days of project completion.
  • Maintain zero customer or internal quality concerns throughout the project lifecycle.

Team & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Deliver weekly KPI reports to senior management and hold bi-weekly coordination meetings with Project Engineers and Leaders.
  • Conduct quarterly team feedback sessions to drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in physical security or low-voltage industries.
  • Proven track record managing project budgets, change orders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with ConnectWise, SmartSheet, or similar project management platforms.
  • Knowledge of physical and electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, infrastructure).
  • Strong communication skills — you can present clearly to field technicians and C-suite alike.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for process improvement.
  • PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay & Schedule

  • Weekly pay via direct deposit.

Time Off

  • 9 paid holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Good Friday, Thanksgiving (2 days), and Christmas (2 days).
  • Vacation accrual starting after 90 days: 5 days at 1 year, 10 days at 2 years, 15 days at 15 years. Unused vacation is paid out at year end.
  • Sick time: 4 hours/month after 90 days, rolls over year to year up to a 96-hour cap.

Health & Wellness

  • Medical, Dental & Vision insurance — eligible after 60 days. System Integrations covers 80% of premiums.
  • Company-paid $25,000 life insurance policy.
  • HSA with company contribution of $180/year.
  • Supplemental insurance options available.

Retirement

  • 401(k) with 3% Safe Harbor company contribution annually, plus potential 2% profit share at year end.
  • Employee elective contributions up to $22,500/year ($30,000 for age 50+).
Our Values

Pursue Excellence • Never Settle • Here to Serve • Own the Outcome • Enjoy the Ride
