Job Description:
We have a career opportunity for an experienced Data Analytics Team Lead to guide the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics that support enterprise-level decision-making. This role is to be based out our Parsons DC office. This is an onsite role.
This Team Lead will oversee the creation of metrics, dashboards, and analytical products that measure performance, track progress against benchmarks, and provide actionable insights for programs, operations, and strategic initiatives. The role will focus on consolidating data from multiple systems of record, improving data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The Data Analytics Team Lead is a hands-on leader with strong capabilities in analytics strategy, KPI development, data modeling, and business intelligence. This role requires the ability to translate complex business needs into analytical requirements, prioritize work across multiple initiatives, and deliver intuitive, high-quality reporting solutions. The lead will coordinate with stakeholders, promote best practices, and ensure that analytics products are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards.
This position also plays a key part in building team capacity by mentoring analysts, standardizing methods, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our analytics ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of analytics solutions-including dashboards, reports, KPI frameworks, and benchmark analyses-to support program performance management and data-driven decisions.
  • Consolidate and integrate data from multiple internal and external systems (e.g., SAM, FSMS, SharePoint) to provide consistent, trusted metrics and insights.
  • Define and manage key performance indicators, targets, and benchmarks that align with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Oversee the development and sustainment of dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring that they are intuitive, reliable, and tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Drive data quality improvement efforts, including validation routines, reconciliation processes, and standards for data completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, financial analysts, and technical staff to understand analytic needs, refine requirements, and prioritize work.
  • Document analytical methods, data definitions, calculation logic, and reporting standards to ensure clarity, maintainability, and consistency.
  • Conduct advanced analytics to assess performance against benchmarks and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and review for dashboards, reports, and analyses developed by team members.
  • Support planning and coordination of analytics-related tasks within broader projects and programs, including timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior analysts, foster an analytical culture, and help institutionalize best practices in reporting, visualization, and analytics.

Typical Assignments:
  • Designing and maintaining performance dashboards for program and portfolio management, including KPIs tied to capital projects, asset management, and operational metrics.
  • Leading cross-system data consolidation initiatives, integrating data from SAM, FSMS, and other systems into analysis-ready datasets.
  • Developing and refining benchmark and trend analyses to support leadership reviews and strategic planning.
  • Reviewing analytics products for methodological rigor, accuracy, and alignment with standards.
  • Preparing executive-level presentations that clearly summarize performance, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinating with technical teams to ensure underlying data pipelines and models support the analytics roadmap.
  • Supporting periodic reporting cycles and ad hoc data calls, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field., or equivalent work expeience.
  • 8+ years of experience working within DHS or DoD environments.
  • 8+ years of hands-on data analytics experience, including KPI development, dashboarding, and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated experience leading analytics initiatives or teams, including prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of complex analytical products.
  • Strong background in data modeling, data structures, and relational concepts.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) and data preparation tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL).
  • Proven ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights in clear, compelling formats for executive and operational audiences.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting program- or portfolio-level analytics in civil engineering, infrastructure, logistics, or related domains is preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring analysts or contributing to analytics standards and governance is a plus.

Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
