About this Job THE LOUISIANA SCHOOL FOR MATH, SCIENCE, AND THE ARTS SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF Coordinator of Data Compliance and Accountability The Data Compliance and Accountability Coordinator serves as a key member of the LSMSA administrative team, providing technical, analytical, and administrative support in managing and reporting institutional data. Primary responsibilities include utilizing specialized data tools to compile, organize, and prepare data for internal analysis and external reporting; evaluating workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness; and implementing best practices to ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining standardized procedures for data usage, supporting the integration of data-driven decision-making across departments, and preparing and presenting accurate and timely reports.

This includes overseeing the preparation and submission of all required data reports to the Louisiana Department of Education throughout the academic year and any other state and federal reporting. This is a full-time position domiciled at the LSMSA campus or a remote office within a state-sponsored facility. The position includes all benefits afforded to Louisiana state employees, including health insurance and retirement contributions.

For more information regarding this position, please contact: LSMSA Human Resources at Employment@LSMSA.edu or 318-357-2521 Minimum Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, or a related field Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working with database systems, data analytics, or business intelligence platforms An advanced degree may substitute for required experience at the discretion of LSMSA Demonstrated proficiency in data preparation, analysis, and reporting using tools such as: Microsoft Office (including Excel and Access) SQL and relational databases Business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) Scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) Development environments and text editors (e.g., Visual Studio, Notepad++) Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Experience with data hygiene, data validation processes, and developing workflows for reporting or systems integration Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with high discretion Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends Possess a valid Louisiana driver's license to attend statewide meetings and conferences Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check Preferred Master's degree in information technology, computer science, data science, or a related field Five (5) or more years of experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS) in a K-12 or higher education environment Familiarity with data systems and reporting platforms used by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), including LEADS, EdLink360, and eScholar Experience working with LSMSA-related systems and platforms, such as Blackbaud Education Management, REACH Boarding, Snap Health Center, Naviance, and Microsoft 365 data services (e.g., Power Automate, SharePoint Lists) Combined minimum of 10 years of experience Job Duties and Other Information Data Compliance, Management, and Reporting (60%) Serve as LSMSA's primary data manager, ensuring compliance with data-related mandates set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) Ensure institutional alignment with state-mandated accountability and programmatic criteria Maintain up-to-date knowledge of LDOE standards, data systems, and reporting requirements Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations governing the collection, maintenance, and reporting of student information Maintain working knowledge of student information systems (SIS) and related software platforms used by LSMSA Generate and submit state-required data files and district-level reports using specialized reporting tools Serve as the designated point of contact for student data privacy compliance, including adherence to FERPA and LDOE guidelines Recommend and support the implementation of policy, procedural, and workflow adjustments in response to new legislative or regulatory mandates Serve as the institutional accountability contact for data verifications, corrections, and external audits Conduct data analysis to support strategic planning in enrollment management, academic performance, student success, and retention Prepare and deliver data-driven insights aligned with the Mission and Vision of LSMSA Manage and oversee the accurate transmission of data feeds from authoritative source systems to integrated services and third-party platforms Technology Integration and Institutional Support (40%) Collaboration with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) on technology planning, evaluation, and implementation of new systems, services, and data workflows Assist in assessing, adopting, and configuring new tools and applications that enhance institutional data use and analytics capabilities Maintain comprehensive documentation of data workflows, policies, procedures, and system integrations Provide support and contribute to the broader initiatives of the LSMSA Information Technology department, as needed Review and enhance documentation provided to the LSMSA community to ensure clarity, accuracy, and usability Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of data management practices, privacy laws, and analytic tools Develop and deliver training sessions or resources to LSMSA staff and faculty using data tools, reporting systems, and analytics platforms Perform additional duties and responsibilities to support the school's mission and strategic goals
