Responsibilities

The Director, Cardiology & Surgical Services provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for Cardiology Services and Surgical Services. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating patient care delivery, staff performance, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and fiscal management across assigned departments. The Director collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Required1. Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) ), required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.3. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.4. Clinical experience in cardiology, cardiovascular lab, surgical services, or perioperative nursing.5. Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA).

Preferred1. Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in Cardiology and/or Surgical Services.2. PALS certification, as applicable to facility needs.3. Demonstrated proficiency with clinical systems, data analysis, and computer applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities1. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.2. Knowledge of perioperative and cardiovascular clinical practice standards.3. Ability to interpret clinical data, EKGs, hemodynamic monitoring, and procedural workflows.4. Demonstrated competence in regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and staff development.5. Ability to manage complex operations, multiple priorities, and change initiatives.
