Job Responsibilities:

Salary : Starting at $105,000 CAD per year with annual discretionary bonusImmediate, open positionPosition Overview:
Serve as an internal expert for the existing financial data landscape, ensuring business needs are accurately translated into effective system solutions. This role bridges finance and IT stakeholders together by applying strong functional domain knowledge to align technical support with business reality, safeguard data integrity and quality and ensure the system reflects the underlying purpose and meaning of financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Expertise & Data Integrity
  • Act as the functional expert for SAP Finance data (mostly SAP FI/CO/PS), including G/L, AP/AR, cost centers, internal orders, and profitability analysis (SAP CO-PA).
  • Validate financial data flows to ensure alignment with P&L and Balance Sheet structures.
  • Lead root cause analysis when discrepancies arise, identifying gaps between business logic and technical processing.
  • Support project-based planning by working with Project Systems (WBS elements, budgeting).
Planning & Reporting Support:
  • Support and maintain planning processes using SAP BW-IP, including design and troubleshooting of planning sequences.
  • Enable reporting through Power BI, Analysis for Office and BEx Query Designer.
  • Work closely with business users to ensure reporting outputs meet financial requirements.
3rd Level Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Act as the escalation point for complex issues (e.g., failed process chains, planning errors).
  • Provide consultative troubleshooting with a focus on long-term, sustainable fixes.
  • Review and assess change requests to ensure business value without compromising system stability.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting and analytic processes and data quality.
Technical & Data Landscape Support
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support SAP BW data models and architecture (e.g., aDSOs, CompositeProviders).
  • Contribute to performance optimization using tools such as FOX formulas or AMDP (where applicable).
  • Support integration between SAP and external data platforms (Databricks, OneStream..) as needed.
Strategic Data Enablement
  • Support the transition from traditional SAP BW to modern data environments, including cloud and lakehouse platforms.
  • Contribute to data governance practices, including data lineage and metadata management.
  • Help bridge SAP data with external platforms (e.g., Databricks, SAP Datasphere, OData interfaces).
Customers and Business Interfaces:
Financial Key user, Directors and local End-users in different countries globally.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 6+ Years of expertise in financial and consolidation processes - automotive industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or business management.
  • Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO and financial reporting structures.
  • Experience with SAP BW-IP planning and BW reporting tools (Analysis for Office, BEx).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data and process issues.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of SD, PP and MM modules.
  • Understanding of SAP BW/4HANA and data modeling concepts.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, data lakes, cloud integration tools).
