A career as a senior data scientist in the Western Excellence Center AI and Transformation Delivery team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence solutions. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organization thanks to your experience in designing, deploying, and operationalizing data science solutions that improve client experience, strengthen risk management, and support operational efficiency.

Your role

  • Frame high-impact analytics and artificial intelligence mandates with partners, clarify business needs, and translate them into concrete data science solutions.
  • Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning, statistical, and generative artificial intelligence models, including large language model solutions and retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model experimentation, and communicate findings through clear recommendations that support decision-making.
  • Implement model lifecycle practices, including model operations, continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, issue resolution, performance tracking, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Define and promote development best practices, standards, reusable patterns, and strong documentation practices for models, data lineage, assumptions, and artificial intelligence processes.
  • Support delivery activities such as planning, testing, troubleshooting, demonstrations, training, and knowledge transfer to help teams adopt new methods and tools.

Within the Western Excellence Center AI and Transformation Delivery department, you are part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with artificial intelligence, data governance, infrastructure, information architecture, security, database and data warehouse administration, business analysis, quality assurance, and business stakeholder teams. You report to the management team and operate with autonomy within established standards. Our team stands out for its focus on innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Hold a degree in computer science, engineering, data science, statistics, or another related field, combined with 3 to 5 years of experience delivering production analytics or machine learning solutions.
  • Have strong programming and data skills with tools and languages such as Python, Structured Query Language, Rust, JavaScript, C, C++, SAS, or R, as well as experience with relational databases.
  • Have experience with data wrangling, preprocessing, visualization, extract-transform-load processes, and tools such as SAS Viya or equivalent platforms.
  • Have experience with model management, model operations tools, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, source control, and modern development environments.
  • Have practical knowledge of containers, orchestration, cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and production deployment practices.
