Sr. Transportation AnalystAbout the Role

McKesson is seeking a Senior Transportation Analyst to support transportation strategy, financial performance, and carrier management across our distribution network. This role partners closely with Operations, Finance, Transportation, and Supply Chain leaders to drive cost optimization, improve carrier performance, support network initiatives, and deliver data-driven business recommendations.

The ideal candidate combines strong transportation and logistics experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and project management skills. This position plays a critical role in monitoring transportation spend, identifying opportunities for improvement, and influencing strategic decisions through analytics and business case development.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze transportation financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and monthly reporting.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support transportation and supply chain initiatives.
  • Monitor transportation KPIs and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and performance improvement.
  • Manage carrier pricing agreements and support transportation procurement initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze data for carrier RFPs, contract negotiations, and network optimization projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate transportation strategies and operational improvements.
  • Lead or support regional transportation projects across multiple business units and geographic regions.
  • Create executive-level presentations and recommendations based on operational and financial insights.
  • Ensure carrier payments are processed accurately and within contractual terms.
  • Deliver reporting and analytics that support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Requirements

Minimum Education & Typical Experience (or equivalent combination):

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Business, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 4+ years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, finance, or related analytical functions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics experience.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance analysis experience.
  • Experience developing financial models, business cases, and executive presentations.
  • Experience supporting carrier management, transportation procurement, or transportation operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Experience tracking and reporting transportation KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Ability to communicate complex data and recommendations to business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience supporting transportation RFPs, carrier sourcing, or contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), freight audit, or transportation reporting tools.
  • Experience with network optimization, cost modeling, or supply chain strategy initiatives.
  • Knowledge of transportation cost structures, parcel, LTL, truckload, or dedicated fleet operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
Work Environment / Travel Requirements
  • Hybrid or office-based environment, 3 day in office requirement (based in Edmonton)
  • Occasional travel may be required to support transportation projects, carrier meetings, or business initiatives
