  • Monitor and investigate incoming data to ensure it is processed accurately and delivered reliably to end users.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design, system functionality, and performance requirements.
  • Design and develop new software or modify existing software to add features and enhance system capabilities.
  • Debug existing software, identify root causes, and correct defects.
  • Modify software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware or operating environments, and improve performance.

  • Analyze system performance, data usage, system workflows, and software-development processes to identify potential improvements.
  • Collaborate with users, system engineers, and software developers to investigate problem areas and develop effective solutions.
  • Write, review, and maintain software and system documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to documentation and software-development process standards.
  • Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcomes and consequences of software designs.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, merge-request reviews, testing, and other Agile development activities.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Strong background in analytics development.
  • Interest in and ability to learn Pig and PySpark.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, debugging, or maintaining software applications.
  • Experience developing queries and working with databases or data repositories.
  • Experience analyzing data flows, data quality, or data-ingestion processes.
  • Experience reviewing technical requirements and translating them into software design and performance requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
    • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.

Desired Skills:

  • Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, GICSP, CND, SSCP, or CCNA Security).
  • Experience developing analytics using Pig or PySpark.
  • Experience developing software using Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience using Apache NiFi for data ingestion, processing, or workflow automation.
