Job description

DATA ANALYST

University of Alabama at Birmingham 

The majority of the work of this position will entail working with the study investigators to finalize a statistical analysis plan for each research question/manuscript, manipulating source data to prepare analytic datasets, preparing the final analytic datasets, conducting the intended analyses, regularly maintaining data analysis memos, reporting the results in needed formats (e.g., tables or figures for manuscripts), and working with the study team members to optimize interpretation of findings to dissemination of results from data perspectives.

The position may have some overlap with data management elements, such as programming of questionnaires in REDCap or data quality checks to ensure optimal quality and accuracy of data. The position may also have some overlap with manuscript development and grant writing and support as needed by the study teams.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data management and analysis for a department or division.

  • Completes extensive programming for data manipulation and generates various statistical analyses.

  • Oversees and manages security and integrity of data.

  • May require development and use of various software packages and systems

Additional Roles, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates data collection

  • Compiles data analysis memos, reports and working with team members.

  • Maintain data management

Salary Range: $47,665 - $77,455

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math, Psychology, Statistics or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required.

  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
