You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp.
Specialized Experience:
GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience includes: (1) Applying Federal travel laws and regulations to provide technical guidance on travel operations, entitlements, and voucher processing; OR (2) Administering travel compliance and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) programs to ensure adherence to agency policies and internal controls; OR (3) Analyzing travel system reports to identify discrepancies, reconcile aged obligations, and resolve financial processing errors; OR (4) Developing travel-related training materials, operating procedures, or instructional job aids to improve program consistency and employee understanding.
GS-13 You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience includes: (1) Interpreting and applying complex Federal and DoD travel laws and regulations to resolve technical entitlement issues and provide authoritative policy advice; OR (2) Managing, evaluating, and improving an organizational travel compliance and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program; OR (3) Conducting audits, reviews, and statistical analyses of travel data to identify improper payment risks and internal control weaknesses; OR (4) Coordinating between travel systems and financial systems to resolve complex interface rejects, perform fiscal year crossover tasks, and reconcile unliquidated obligations.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education:Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: There is no substitution of education for experience at these grade levels.Employment Type: OTHER
