Collaboration is frequent, as you'll typically work closely with founders, product managers, engineers, and marketers to deliver actionable insights. This environment fosters valuable learning opportunities and skill development, but it also demands flexibility, resourcefulness, and a willingness to take on diverse tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the data analyst startup position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Analyst at a startup, you need strong quantitative skills, proficiency in data manipulation and statistical analysis, and often a degree in a related field like mathematics, statistics, or computer science. What is a data analyst startup?

A Data Analyst in a startup is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help drive business decisions. Unlike in larger companies, startup data analysts often wear multiple hats, working with raw, unstructured data, building dashboards, and providing strategic insights. They collaborate closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to optimize processes and improve business performance. Job description

We are advancing our global supply chain with AI-enabled analytics and systems to anticipate risk, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive faster, smarter decisions across our growing, global business. We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Global Supply Chain Planning to develop models and decision tools that improve supply chain performance across our global network.
This is an opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives with executive visibility and shape the next generation of our supply chain capabilities in a fast-moving and entrepreneurial business.
This is not a traditional reporting role or a pure data science role; it is a hands-on builder role for someone who can connect supply chain planning, systems, data, analytics, and automated workflows to improve business decisions at scale.
What you'll do
  • Own the design and improvement of analytical tools, planning workflows, dashboards, and system-enabled processes that support demand, supply, inventory, and operations decisions
  • Build predictive, prescriptive, and optimization models for forecasting, inventory risk, supply constraints, service performance, and exception detection using AI, automation, and self-service solutions to drive decision quality and speed
  • Perform exploratory analysis, root-cause analysis, data validation, feature development, and performance measurement to support business solutions
  • Develop scenario and simulation models to quantify tradeoffs across service, cost, inventory, and risk
  • Translate supply chain and business problems into scalable analytical solutions embedded in processes and systems
  • Partner with IT, planning, operations, and finance teams to improve data flows, reporting structures, planning system outputs, and analytical tools used throughout our planning processes
  • Clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations, recommendations, and business insights
  • Improve data quality, metric consistency, and analytical rigor across the planning organization

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, operations research, data science, supply chain, analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, systems, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related quantitative role
  • Experience with SQL, BI/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and advanced Excel; Python, R, or similar analytical programming experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn ambiguous business questions into practical solutions
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and building clear analytical recommendations and outputs
  • Skill and interest in AI-enabled workflows and production deployments
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and model outputs to business and executive stakeholders
  • Working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and a builder mindset

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, retail, CPG, and automotive
  • Experience with statistical analysis, optimization, anomaly detection, predictive modeling, scenario modeling, or machine learning
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region business operations

Culture & values

  • Show You Care: We operate with empathy, integrity, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Action vs. Activity: Results - not busyness - drive recognition and advancement.

  • Executive Visibility: Work directly with executive leaders on strategic, high-impact initiatives.
