Responsibilities
โ€ข Develop and maintain high-quality reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI
โ€ข Gather and analyze technical requirements from stakeholders across the organization
โ€ข Develop and maintain data models to support analytics, reporting, and self-service BI
โ€ข Provide ongoing administration, tuning, and support for Power BI and related tools
โ€ข Establish and promote standards for report design, data modeling, and data visualization
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and alignment across systems and reporting solutions
โ€ข Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to business leaders
โ€ข Support and influence data governance, documentation, and data quality initiatives
โ€ข Contribute to the design and evolution of data architecture, including data transformations and pipeline development using tools such as dbt or similar frameworks
โ€ข Mentor and guide less experienced analysts, fostering best practices in BI development and data modeling
โ€ข Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence, data engineering, and analytics
Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
โ€ข 5+ years of relevant data analyst experience
โ€ข Advanced experience building scalable, insight-driven dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, including performance optimization and troubleshooting
โ€ข Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, including user experience (UX) design and storytelling with data
โ€ข Experience developing and maintaining standards for report design, performance, and usability
โ€ข Solid knowledge of data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and semantic layer design
โ€ข Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
โ€ข Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
โ€ข Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and layered data architectures.
โ€ข Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., dbt)
โ€ข Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake)
โ€ข Understanding of version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices is a plus
โ€ข Candidate must live and work in Wisconsin
