EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc.
JOB TITLE: Data Analyst
LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle., Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.)
DUTIES: Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Duties include: Perform analysis on large data sets across multiple lines of services and healthcare markets to support strategic decisions and deliver value to the business unit; Interpret data and develop recommendations and courses of action through discussions with internal and external stakeholders; Ensure data requirements are met during the intake process and identify solutions to resolve issues; Evaluate business performance and monitor, track, and report key performance indicators; Document processes and identify areas for process improvement; and Require an individual to maintain the ability to work in an environment with PHI / PII data. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Business Analytics or related field and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one year of experience in the job offered or a related analytical occupation. Position requires:
• Data Analysis, Statistical Modeling, and Data Visualization such as Matplotlib or Tableau;
• Data Ingestion using tools like Salesforce and AWS s3;
• Business Analysis;
• SQL programming;
• Python programming with modules such as Pandas, sklearn, or boto3;
• Work with clients to plan data workflows, perform QC, perform analytics, share insights and actionable strategies from complex disjointed data sources;
• Data and business processes related to targeting analytics, risk adjustment, and chart retrieval and coding; • Research and developing innovative analytics to generate value;
• Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets;
• Monitor data quality, validating data pipelines and providing design inputs to build scalable data and analytics processes/data flows;
• Distribute big data processing using tools such as AWS EMR and Spark;
• Predictive modeling and machine learning models;
• Healthcare data processing in accordance with HIPAA guidelines;
• Workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow;
• Leading data science/analytics projects with cross-functional teams;
• Break down key business deliverables into technical details and implementations;
• Communicating complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders; and
• Utilize Databases such as SQL server, Snowflake, and AWS Athena.
RATE OF PAY: $116,143 - $221,382 / per year
