Job description

About the Team

Fanatics Collectibles is a new company operating at the intersection of collectibles, culture, and technology. Backed by world-class investors, operators, and sports & entertainment partners, we are building the global leader in next-generation collectibles. As part of the broader Fanatics ecosystem, we leverage a digital sports platform that spans over 900 sports properties and engages more than 81 million fans. Together, we are reimagining every part of the collectibles experience for fans, partners, and creators.

Role Summary

Fanatics Live and Collect are building the home of the sports card and collecting hobby, a platform where fans can buy, sell, and experience collecting in real time. Our analytics team is growing fast and we need a senior analyst who can turn sometimes messy data into clean, reliable reporting that the business actually uses. We're looking for a detail-oriented owner who takes pride in getting the numbers right: someone who can own our reporting and dashboarding function end-to-end, dig into unfamiliar data sources until they understand them inside and out, delegate pieces of the work to junior analysts on the team, and ensure stakeholders can trust every number they see.

What we're looking for:

  • SQL & Data: Expert-level SQL is a must (Snowflake nice to have). Comfortable writing complex queries across large datasets and going back to the source when something doesn't look right.
  • BI & Dashboarding: Proven experience building and maintaining dashboards in a modern BI tool. Experience with Sigma is a strong plus. Comfortable directing the migration of an existing Excel or manual report into a BI layer.
  • AI & Agents: Hands-on experience with Claude, GPT, or similar LLMs. Can work with and help improve agents used across the team.
  • Semantic Layer & Metrics: Familiarity with semantic layers and how to build metrics and insights that stay consistent across applications - hardening the gold layer. dbt experience or exposure is a plus.
  • Ownership & delegation: Comfortable delegating tasks to junior analysts on the team and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy, while owning outcomes end-to-end.
  • Attention to detail: Catches the thing others miss. If something is off, you'll find it.
  • Curiosity and ownership: Willing to go spelunking through GitHub, the data warehouse, and Slack threads to figure something out. Not afraid to ask questions, but brings a point of view when they do.
  • Communication: Can work directly with stakeholders across ops, finance, and CX to understand what they need and translate that into clean, accurate reporting.

Requirements:

  • SQL & Data: 5+ years of experience writing expert-level SQL across large datasets (Snowflake nice to have)
  • BI & Dashboarding: 5+ years of experience building and maintaining dashboards in a modern BI tool (Sigma a strong plus)

This role will also work across a range of data domains. At least two years of experience in any of the following is required:

  • Operational data: shipping, fulfillment
  • Financial data: payment processing, Stripe
  • CX & T&S: customer support and trust and safety ticketing, Kustomer

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain dashboards in Sigma for ops, finance, and CX stakeholders
  • Migrate existing Excel-based and manual reports into the BI layer
  • Dig into shipping, fulfillment, payment, and CX data to surface trends, flag anomalies, and share what the data is actually saying
  • Become the internal expert on specific data domains - own them, delegate pieces to junior analysts on the team, and be the person others come to with questions
  • Handle ad hoc data pulls and investigations, turning vague questions into clear, well-sourced answers
  • Partner with data engineers to understand data models and flag upstream issues when reporting doesn't add up
  • Work with AI tools and agents to accelerate reporting and investigation work, and help improve how the team uses them
  • Help define and maintain a consistent semantic layer so metrics mean the same thing across every application that uses them
