Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and maintain all commercial contracts within the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system (Right Angle), ensuring accurate setup and oversight for a wide range of commodity and trade types, including NGLs (Propane, Butane), Crude, and Lease Supply.

  • Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including data entry, document generation, execution (printing, signing, and distribution), and system updates to reflect real-time status changes, key milestones, and follow-up actions - ensuring full auditability and compliance throughout.

  • Understand how to capture complex trader requests within the limitations of the system and changing business environments.

  • Reconciling, reporting and managing FCM accounts and OTC counterparties.

  • Monitoring adherence to energy risk management policies/procedures, metrics, and limits to identify errors and exceptions, while ensuring compliance and identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Monitoring overall position limits, volumes, pricing, and approvals.

  • Preparing and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly risk reporting for management.

  • Develop an understanding of the Canadian crude oil industry, including Plains' role within the overall industry value chain.

  • Build foundational knowledge of risk management concepts, including commodity exposure and mark-to-market valuation.

  • Gain exposure to crude oil trading structures, including both physical transactions and financial derivative instruments.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in business, finance, economics, or Risk Management

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment

  • Highly motivated with strong financial, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Goal oriented and able to contribute as a team player

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook

  • Cleared criminal history (background), education, and satisfactory reference checks
