A data analyst can transition to a financial analyst role since both positions require strong analytical skills, proficiency in data tools like Excel and SQL, and an understanding of financial concepts. The skills overlap can facilitate a career shift, but specific financial knowledge is typically necessary for success in a financial analyst role.
