Job description

The Data Governance & Quality Analyst supports data lineage and governance activities by helping maintain data lineage documentation, collecting information from stakeholders, and assisting with data quality and governance initiatives. This role collaborates with a globally spread out business and technology stakeholder base to ensure data flows are depicted accurately and are in conformance with organizational policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to producing high-quality work in a collaborative team environment, spread across multiple geographies.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Assist with tracking data lineage and data governance deliverables, action items, and related activities to support the workstream objectives.
  • Gather information from business and technology stakeholders to support lineage and data governance activities.
  • Support data quality reviews by identifying data hygiene issues and assisting with issue tracking and remediation activities.
  • Help prepare presentations related to data lineage and data governance initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings, working sessions, and governance forums while capturing key actions and follow-ups.
  • Maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, lineage, and flow diagrams.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve documentation quality.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or data management roles. Business Analysts with some amount of exposure to data lineage is a strong plus.
  • Basic understanding of data concepts, databases, reporting, data aggregation and visualization tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and self-learning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Please note that the location listed for this role is temporary. The position's work location will transition to 1445 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75202 at a future date. In-Person interviews will be required for the role.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
