What we want

The Assistant Data Visualization Analyst is responsible for assisting with data analytics projects, gathering, cleaning and studying data sets to assist in larger problem resolution efforts. This is a wage position established to accommodate a temporary organizational need. As such, TAMU does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role.

Responsibilities

Data Systems Support and Process Improvement

  • Establish ML pipelines for image segmentation and image analysis on the GPU cluster at EnMed (Pettigrew lab)
  • Document the pipeline implementation for ready application by the EnMed students.
  • Assists with data systems management and integration functions to maintain system performance.
  • Supports improvement efforts for existing data systems by reviewing system capabilities, workflows, and schedule limitations.
  • Collaborates in identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency within data processes and systems.

Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis

  • Assists in supporting operations and conducting data analytics projects to provide information and insights to stakeholders for decision making or solution development.
  • Analyzes small to moderately sized datasets using statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns.
  • Applies basic data mining, data modeling, and natural language processing techniques to interpret data.
  • Utilizes routine data mining techniques to discover patterns and relationships that support business decisions.
  • Assists in developing statistical models and algorithms to predict future trends, behavior, and outcomes based on historical data.
  • Assists in designing and analyzing tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies or interventions.

Data Management and Quality Assurance

  • Gathers data from basic sources to support analytical projects.
  • Constructs datasets for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Cleanses, filters, and preprocesses routine data to remove inconsistencies, errors, and outliers to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Implements data standards and deploys automation tools to extract, synthesize, validate, and transform data into usable metrics.
  • Monitors data quality and security to maintain data integrity.
  • Provides routine troubleshooting and resolves database issues to ensure reliable data access and performance.

Data Visualization and Manuscript

  • Creates data visualizations, dashboards, and metrics to communicate analytical findings.
  • Generates basic data reports and responds to routine information requests from stakeholders.
  • Transforms analytical results into clear and meaningful information to support decision making.

Professional Development and Technical Growth

  • Stays updated on current data analysis techniques, tools, and technologies to enhance analytical effectiveness.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
