Job description

Join a results-driven, collaborative data team embracing automation and AI to take our work-and your career-to the next level. As a Tax Data Analyst supporting fiduciary income tax return preparation and filing, you will strengthen control and reduce risk through rigorous data analysis, review, reconciliation, and validation. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and our tax vendor to improve data quality and drive faster, more accurate outcomes. This role offers meaningful exposure to tax operations, strong mentorship, and clear opportunities to grow your scope over time.

As a Tax Data Analyst within the Trusts & Estates Tax Operations team, you will support the preparation and filing of fiduciary income tax returns by performing data analysis, review, reconciliation, and validation in partnership with our tax vendor. You'll help improve data quality and strengthen controls to reduce operational risk and enable accurate, timely filings. You will work on a collaborative, detail-oriented team that values continuous improvement and thoughtful problem-solving. You will contribute to process enhancements and automation to increase efficiency and scalability. You'll also build practical skills in tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and Python, with opportunities to grow your scope over time. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Review, reconcile, and validate data to ensure integrity and support accurate tax processing and reporting
  • Identify automation opportunities and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce risk
  • Support process-improvement projects, including documentation, testing, and implementation activities
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation requirements, implementation, testing, and written procedures
  • Produce and maintain recurring metrics and performance reporting (e.g., volume, timeliness, and quality), including dashboard updates and stakeholder-ready summaries
  • Support ad hoc data requests to assist team members

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Strong critical thinking and data curiosity with an automation mindset
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong research skills and a commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly escalate and explain data issues to partners
  • Ability to act with urgency and sound judgment to meet time-sensitive tax deadlines
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, as needed, for key tax deadlines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Two or more years of relevant experience in operations, data analysis, or tax-related support roles
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, and/or Python for reporting or automation
