• 1+ years of experience in lease abstraction, lease administration, or commercial real estate.
• Experience supporting multi-unit or national retail portfolios preferred.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management systems.
• Experience with lease administration platforms (e.g., Lucernex, CoStar, MRI, LeaseQuery, or similar).

Position Summary
The Lease Abstractor plays a critical role in supporting the management and optimization of a national retail portfolio of approximately 2,000 locations across the United States. This role is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and abstracting commercial lease agreements and related documents, ensuring accurate and timely capture of key lease data to support Lease Administration, Legal, Finance, and broader Real Estate functions. The Lease Abstractor ensures data integrity across systems and contributes to the effective management of lease obligations throughout the real estate lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lease Abstraction & Data Management
• Review and interpret commercial lease agreements, amendments, addenda, and related legal documents.
• Abstract key lease terms including rent schedules, escalation clauses, renewal options, CAM charges, co-tenancy clauses, and critical dates.
• Enter and maintain accurate lease data within lease administration systems and databases.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of lease abstracts by validating against source documents.
Lease Administration Support
• Track and manage critical lease dates including expirations, renewals, rent commencements, and increases.
• Partner with Lease Administration and Legal teams to clarify lease language and resolve discrepancies.
• Support lease audits, reconciliations, alerts, and compliance with lease obligations.
• Assist with onboarding new leases and updating existing lease records.
Cross-Functional Real Estate Support
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Facilities, Construction, and Deal Making teams to ensure alignment of lease data.
• Support data management and analysis needs related to lease data, rent obligations, and occupancy costs.
• Ensure consistency of lease information across Real Estate systems and stakeholders.
Lease Data & Documentation
• Maintain organized digital lease files and documentation.
• Support preparation of lease-related letters, notices, reports, summaries, and documentation for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in maintaining data integrity across lease administration platforms.
