Job description

JCCSF Tikvah School of Music & Dance is a unique bicultural children’s program taught in Russian by native-speaking instructors. Tikvah explores Jewish culture through music, dance, art, and Shabbat celebrations.
The Tikvah Dance Teacher provides high quality dance programming for children ages 2 – 17. In addition, the instructor is responsible in assisting for the annual dance recital and for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment within the dance studios.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach children’s dance classes including tap, jazz, ballroom and hip-hop.
  • Create curriculums for all classes.
  • Assist in creation of new classes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to families by communicating with them about their child’s experience.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least two years’ experience working with school-age children.
  • Knowledge of and ability to teach dance for elementary-age children. We welcome applicants with experience in any dance genre.
  • Fluent bilingual spoken language skills in English and Russian.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position works on-site in a community center environment, with regular interactions with children and their families.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to demonstrate a variety of dance skills and movements.
