What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Dance Program Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Dance Program Manager, you typically need experience in dance or arts administration, a degree in performing arts, arts management, or a related field, and a solid understanding of program development. Familiarity with scheduling software, budgeting tools, and event management systems is valuable in this role. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills help in managing staff, coordinating programs, and fostering relationships with students and instructors. These skills and qualities are essential for ensuring effective program delivery, participant satisfaction, and the overall growth and success of the dance program.

You'll lead from the front: teaching classes, coaching your team, and building relationships with families while also owning the business performance.
This role is ideal for someone who has a background in gymnastics or youth programs and is ready to step into a leadership position with real impact.
What Success Looks Like
  • The gym is running smoothly day-to-day, with a strong, reliable team
  • Classes are full, and new families are consistently joining
  • You and your team are confidently promoting and selling the program
  • Members stay engaged and retention is strong
  • The gym continues to grow in both revenue and community presence

Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop Your Team

  • Create a positive, high-energy team environment
  • Coach team members on both instruction and customer experience

Run Daily Operations
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and day-to-day gym operations
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and equipment standards
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every family

Teach & Lead Classes
  • Teach gymnastics-based classes for children of various age groups
  • Lead by example in delivering fun, engaging, and safe instruction

Drive Sales & Growth
  • Actively promote and sell programs to new and existing members
  • Build relationships with families to drive enrollment and retention
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue (events, programs, memberships)

Customer Experience
  • Deliver an outstanding experience for both kids and parents
  • Handle questions, concerns, and feedback professionally
  • Create a welcoming, community-focused environment

What We're Looking For
  • Background in gymnastics, physical education, or child development
  • Experience in leadership, operations, or managing a team
  • Comfortable with sales and customer-facing conversations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work a mix of daytime, evenings, and weekends

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $65,000 - $68,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • 401(k) with up to 4% match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off (sick, personal, holidays)
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Opportunity for advancement within the organization

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and will possess superior time management skills. A background in child development, physical education and/or gymnastics is required. A combination of daytime, evening, and weekend hours are required.
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
