Job description

Data Architect
Designer of federated computational governance - the rules, standards, and interoperability contracts that let independently-owned data products compose into a coherent mesh. Less "central modeler," more "framework setter."
Core skills
  • Modeling dimensional, Data Vault 2.0, anchor modeling, semantic/ontology modeling
  • Mesh architecture bounded-context decomposition (DDD), domain identification, distinguishing Foundational (single record-of-truth from a source domain) vs. Derivative (cross-domain composition) products, polysemes and master entity reconciliation across products
  • Interoperability standards global identifier strategy, universal time/geo dimensions, shared semantic layer (Cube, dbt Semantic Layer, AtScale), schema/contract evolution rules
  • Governance frameworks DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, DataOps maturity, data product taxonomy, stewardship operating model
  • Privacy & regulatory GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, PCI; classification, retention, lineage-driven impact analysis
  • Reference architecture lakehouse, medallion vs. data product topology, event-driven architecture, CDC patterns
  • AI architecture governed RAG, agentic data access patterns, knowledge graphs, AI-ready semantic layers, model-data contracts

Mesh-specific defining "what makes a data product fit-for-purpose," authoring the federated policy-as-code that runs on the platform, and ratifying the decision rights split between central and domain teams
