Job description

Driver Files and Eligibility
Driver files:
·       For new drivers:
o   Make sure driver completes all necessary paperwork
o   Follow FMCSA guidelines to contact previous employer regarding driving record and testing results
o   Copy of driver record from state agency
o   Send driver for initial drug screen
o   Review DMP rules, code of conduct and drug policy – have them sign acknowledgement
o   Obtain copy of medical card and driver’s license
o   Prior to first drive, send for alcohol screen
o   DMP driver agreements and substance abuse policy
 
·       For current drivers:
o   Annual declaration of violations (to be completed by driver)
o   Obtain a copy of driving record from state agency (every year)
o   Send drivers for randomly selected drug and alcohol screens
 
·       For terminated drivers:
o   Document files with termination paperwork
o   Remove them from testing pool
 
Other eligibility requirements
·       Maintain a calendar of expiration dates for current driver medical cards and licenses
·       Maintain records of random drug and alcohol testing, as well as results
 
Insurance
·       Communicate with Mary regarding drivers to be added or removed from DMP insurance (secure appropriate info from drivers if needed)
·       Notify of any accidents that may need to be reported
 
 
Driver Training
·       Maintain records of driver training (dates and attendance)
·       Conduct mock audits (when needed)
