The company has used this experience to expand our service offerings to other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Civilian Agencies.Position OverviewThe Data Engineering Technical Expert provides senior-level leadership and technical direction for enterprise data engineering, data architecture, and analytics initiatives supporting the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Data and Analytics (CG-ODA). This role leads high-complexity projects involving data modernization, cloud transformation, data governance, and enterprise engineering solutions.ResponsibilitiesLead enterprise data engineering and architecture initiatives.Develop and implement strategic data engineering roadmaps.Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Oversee compliance with federal policies, standards, and regulations.Advise executive leadership on technical investments and modernization efforts.Review project deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance.Coordinate stakeholders across multiple programs and domains.Support AI, analytics, metadata management, and data governance initiatives.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.CSPO, DHS Mid-Level Project Management Certification, or equivalent.10 years of relevant experience, or 8 years with a Master's degree.Experience leading enterprise data engineering projects within federal environments.Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.Clearance RequirementsApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
